PDF Tools is a free suite of utilities for working with PDF files — merging, splitting, compressing, converting, signing, OCR and dozens more — that run entirely in your web browser.
We built it on a simple principle: your documents are yours. Most online PDF tools upload your files to a server you cannot audit. Ours never do. Everything happens on your device.
The tools use well-established open-source libraries (such as pdf-lib, pdf.js, MuPDF and Tesseract) compiled to run in the browser. There is no server-side processing of your files, no account, and no cost.
Because processing is local, the tools also work offline once the page has loaded, and they are fast — there is no upload or download round-trip for your data.
PDF Tools is available in 30 languages so people everywhere can use it in their own language.
